Terms of use
This is a translation. The German version, the Nutzungsbedingungen, is the binding one.
1. What this is about
These terms apply to the app “Passweg” for Android and iOS. The provider is Williams Omayuku, Berolinastr. 7a, 10178 Berlin (see the imprint). By using the app you agree to them.
2. What the app is
Passweg helps you prepare for the Einbürgerungstest: with the questions of the official catalog, practice runs, mock exams and your progress. The app is free and shows ads. With the one-time purchase “Remove ads” you use it without ads; everything else is free anyway.
3. Not an official app, no guarantee of passing
Passweg is not affiliated with, endorsed by or connected to the Federal Office for Migration and Refugees (BAMF) or any other authority. The app is a study aid. Whether you pass the test depends on you; a result in the app says nothing binding about your result in the test.
4. The content
The questions, answers and pictures come from BAMF’s complete question catalog (Gesamtfragenkatalog); which edition it is, the app says under Settings → Legal. We reproduce the questions as BAMF publishes them and take care that the answers are right. We still cannot rule out errors. What counts is always BAMF’s current catalog. The English translations are our own; they are a study aid and have no legal meaning. If you notice an error, please tell us (“Report a problem” below every practice question).
5. What you may do with the app
You may use the app for yourself. The app itself, its look and its program code are protected by copyright. The software libraries it is built with are under their own licences (in the app under Settings → Legal → Open-source licences).
If you got the app from the App Store, Apple’s standard licence agreement for end users also applies to the licence of the app: apple.com/legal/internet-services/itunes/dev/stdeula.
6. The purchase “Remove ads”
“Remove ads” is a one-time purchase, not a subscription. It removes the ads from the app on every device signed in with the same Google Play or App Store account; on a new device you get it back under Settings → Remove ads → Restore purchases.
You buy it through the store you got the app from. Its terms apply to the purchase, the payment, withdrawal and refunds (on Google Play the Google Play Terms of Service, on the App Store Apple’s Media Services Terms and Conditions). The store shows the price before you buy. You ask the store for a refund; if the store refunds the purchase, the app shows ads again.
7. Availability and changes to the app
The app works without internet with the questions it has. New questions, ads and the purchase need a connection. We keep developing the app and may change it. We provide the updates the law requires to keep the app usable and secure for you (§ 327f BGB).
8. Liability
We are liable without limitation for intent and gross negligence, for injury to life, body or health, under the Product Liability Act and where we have given a guarantee. For a slightly negligent breach of a duty that is essential to using the app and on whose fulfilment you may rely, we are liable only for the foreseeable, typical damage. Otherwise we are not liable for slight negligence.
9. Changes to these terms
We may change these terms, for example when the app or the law changes. The version on this page applies; its date is at the top. For a purchase, the terms in force at the time of the purchase apply.
10. Law and contact
